Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. (Romans 13:1)

Anyone seeking dignity should know that to God belongs all dignity. To Him ascends the good words, and He exalts the righteous works. As for those who scheme evil works, they incur severe retribution; the scheming of such people is destined to fail. (Quran 35:10)

On "You shall have one standard of law for non-citizen and citizen alike” (Leviticus 24:22) Rebbeinu Bachya states: “The Torah wanted to make the point that in spite of differences in origin of certain people, the law is to be applied to them equally.”

The Brahmanas (that is, men belonging to the so-called highest social order) are born from the womb, so too are the Candalas (that is, men belonging to the so-called lowest social order) born from the womb. What reason, indeed, do you see for assigning the highest status [to the former] and the lowest position [to the latter]? (Sardulakarnavadana 18)

For a state that is not pleasant or delightful to me must be so to him also; and a state that is not pleasing or delightful to me, how could I inflict that upon another? (Samyutta Nikaya, v.353)

One should not behave towards others in a way which is disagreeable to oneself. This is the essence of morality. All other activities are due to selfish desire. (Mahābhārata, Anusasana Parva 113.8)
